TapouT XT Day Thirteen - Cardio XT
Whoo - wee, day thirteen was our first round of Cardio XT. I know TapouT XT is extreme but today's cardio routine was a killer. The warm-up was eight minutes and I had already worked up a sweat before the real workout began. It was tough but Mike throws out encouragement the entire time. He explains that the muscle building we've been doing will burn the fat during the cardio routines, something we've been thinking. It was a great workout but right now it's not one of my favorites.
Cardio is what Mandi likes so I expect as the program progresses she'll really get into it. I do cardio because I'm supposed to so I'll be looking forward to the strength days. Both are essential so I know I just need to suck it up to get fit and improve my overall health. I do have to admit, even though Cardio XT was kicking my butt immensely, Mike makes it fun and the workout just flies by.
Ultimate Abs was also on the menu and we are getting better each time. We grind here and there but we stick through it. Oddly, it seems like the workout has gotten shorter. I really like this routine and look forward to the days it is added. My core has gotten a little stronger so I'm invigorated to keep pushing myself.
Tomorrow's a rest day so we have made it through two weeks of the workouts. Another milestone and one that affirms our commitment to the program. As I've said before, TapouT XT is our first 90 day program so we don't know what to expect or how it may differ from other routines. It's still early, but right now I have no problem recommending this program to anyone who is willing to "come and get it".
