TapouT XT Day Sixty Six - Plyo XT
Plyo XT brought a beat down today. We both have been a little tired the last couple of days but we have been performing our TapouT XT workouts really well. That all came to a screeching halt once we put in the Plyo DVD. This one is always tough but today I was gasping for air shortly after the warm-up. I kept up the best I could and Mandi wasn't doing all that bad but we were in a slow downhill slide the entire time. The groiners are always a trouble spot and they were murder today.
The tuck jumps scattered throughout the workout were like acid salt. Just when I thought I might be able to pull out and get on top, bam! I do like the squat touch, legs in out, jab cross move so I was able to muster some kind of second wind when we made it to those. Mandi struggled with those but she always finishes really strong. We were able to pound out the shoot-the-leg sprawls but that left me spent for the killer move. All in all we survived with Plyo being the clear winner.
A healthy dose of humble pie is always good. No matter how strong we feel and how good we're doing it's nice to know that there is a lot of fight left in TapouT. It's clear that after completing the 90 (84) days there is still plenty to be gained from this program. We have already made tremendous fitness improvements and we still have a ways to go. Having a rough workout day is just part of the journey. I'm sure there will be plenty more bruisers, even some from unexpected routines, but we'll just take it day by day, as it goes.
Tonight was another chance for beef as we did a repeat of the Beef Bulgogi recipe. Mandi cooked the meat this time and it turned out a lot better. We both need to get used to the smell of beef since we have never cooked it in our married life until recently. We both liked it so I think we might be expanding our menu to include a couple more dishes. We also will be trying venison and possibly goat in the future. This may be normal for most people but it's a whole new world for us.
